INHABIT Movie at the Permaculture Guild Meeting

  • SLO Grange Hall 2880 Broad St San Luis Obispo, CA, 93401 United States (map)

You are invited to the May 26 meeting of the SLO Permaculture Guild at SLO Grange Hall, 2880 Broad St, in San Luis Obispo, starting at 6 PM.

This May 26 meeting will feature a special, no cost, showing of the recently released, 90-minute feature film: Inhabit- A Permaculture Perspective.  You can view a 3 minute trailer of this film at the following website: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9U56O6LDyLQ

Movie Synopsis:
Humanity is more than ever threatened by its own actions; we hear a lot about the need to minimize footprints and to reduce our impact. But what if our footprints were beneficial? What if we could meet human needs while increasing the health and well-being of our planet? This is the premise behind permaculture: a design process based on the replication of patterns found in nature. INHABIT explores the many environmental issues facing us today and examines solutions that are being applied using the ecological design lens of permaculture. Focused mostly on the Northeastern and Midwestern regions of the United States, Inhabit provides an intimate look at permaculture peoples and practices ranging from rural, suburban, and urban landscapes.

The May 26 Permaculture Guild meeting will begin with a potluck sharing of food at 6:00 PM.  The movie will be shown at 6:30 PM.  Following the movie, you will have an opportunity to learn more about and consider registering for the 2015 SLO Permaculture Design (PDC) course at the very affordable cost of $650. The SLO Permaculture Teaching Team will schedule this local PDC course, when at least 12 people express an intention to register for this PDC course.

Please note that meeting attendees may decide to make a voluntary donation to the SLO Grange because it is providing this meeting space to the SLO Permaculture Guild at no cost. However, the SLO Permaculture Guild and the SLO Permaculture Teaching Team are showing this movie at not cost, as required by the underlying fair-use, permaculture educational purposes in showing this film at this May 26 meeting.
